2019 has been a rough year for patients and for small clinics because insurance companies have increased restrictions to patient coverage.
Many plans offer some natural medicine benefits, but at a limited number of visits per year. Often clinics will have high rates that make it difficult to pay cash after your benefits have been maxed. That makes it hard to get through a health issue because often the best outcome comes from frequent visits initially, and then less frequent care later, with the option to increase care again if there's a flare up. It can get discouraging to stay on the path of recovery if your benefits end and cost goes up significantly.
Another type of coverage involves co-insurance. These types of plans pay a portion of your cost but have two down sides. The first is that a co-insurance does not kick in until after your deductible has been met, and the second is that it's difficult to know how much you will have to pay per visit until then. Because insurance billing has a time delay it's possible to not get a bill until you've had several treatments, and then find an unexpectedly high bill in the mail.
Here at Vital Gate, I am an Out of Network provider. You can get a superbill from me that you submit to your insurance company to get paid back. You do pay up front, but never get an unexpected bill in the mail. This system allows me to keep my rates low and flexible, and to offer special discounts or packages. Please ask me if you have any questions about superbills or your insurance.
